When You Don’t Know What to Do Next… So You Just Eat a Muffin

Sometimes life throws you a curveball, and instead of rising like a warrior queen with her hair done and a full beat… you just sit in your robe, stare at the wall, and eat a muffin. Blueberry, if you’re classy. Chocolate chip, if you’ve given up all rules. Either way, we’ve all been there.
We laugh, but let’s be honest. That feeling of “I have no idea what to do next” is very real. Maybe you just left a long-term job. Maybe your kids are grown, and the house is quiet. Maybe your hormones are doing cartwheels and nothing fits—not your jeans, your schedule, or even your identity.
It’s the in-between.
That weird space between what was and what’s next. And it’s uncomfortable.
Now, you can stay in that space eating muffins forever, but eventually, something deep in your spirit is going to rise up and say,
“There has to be more than this.”
And there is.
As your sister, your coach, and your personal cheerleader, let me share some coaching tools to help you get unstuck when life has you staring blankly at the ceiling fan:
What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do:
1. Get Quiet Before You Get Busy
The world will tell you to hustle. But healing, clarity, and direction often come in the stillness. Give yourself permission to pause. Journal. Pray. Ask God, “What’s the next right thing?” That one question can change everything.
2. Name What You’re Feeling
Don’t shove it down. Say it out loud or write it in your journal. “I feel lost.” “I feel behind.” “I feel like I’m becoming someone I don’t recognize.” Naming it disarms it. And honey, you can’t coach what you won’t confront.
3. Do One Brave Thing
It doesn’t have to be big. Call the school you’re thinking about enrolling in. Research the city you’ve been dreaming of moving to. Schedule the free consult with the coach you’ve been stalking on Instagram (hi, that’s me). Just one step. Action creates clarity.
4. Unbox Your Identity
You are not just a mom. Not just a wife. Not just a former corporate warrior. You are a full, powerful woman with a voice, with wisdom, and with dreams that still matter. Let’s peel back the layers and remember who you are underneath all the titles.
5. Laugh, Cry, Repeat
Healing is not linear. Some days you’ll feel like a queen. Other days you’ll cry over a sink full of dishes. Both are holy. Both are human. Give yourself permission to be all the things.
Here’s the good news. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own. You don’t have to navigate this season in silence. That’s why I created The Coaching Table. To be a soft landing. A bold push. A safe space to be seen, heard, and supported.
You are not stuck. You are being rerouted.
And reroutes always lead somewhere. Somewhere better. Somewhere deeper. Somewhere God has had planned all along.
So eat the muffin. Cry if you need to. But then take a breath, stand up, and take one brave step forward.
I’m right here cheering you on.
